Do you play Visual Novels? If so which ones have you played and what do you recommend? Here's my top 5

1. Clannad- The Best visual novel/Romance Anime ever in my opinion. The story's got everything; comedy, romance, tragedy. The Anime is a pretty good adaption of the game, but there is way more that gets cut. This game has over 300 hours of play time and took me about 2 weeks to get through all of the routes. It also has the most roots I've ever played in a visual novel, somewhere around 13 or 14. The Music and the visuals are beautiful and I would recommend this to any fan of the Anime or just any Romantic-comedy fan in general.

2. Katawa Shoujo- An interesting and somewhat twisted VN. The story is about a boy named Hisao who one winter day gets confessed to by the girl he likes, when suddenly his heart stops. He is diagnosed with a heart virus and is hospitalized for four months. When he leaves the hospital he is told that he has to attend a high school for the disabled where there are on duty nurses and that his heart condition is incurable, only treatable. I'll let you find out the rest when you play it. This game, like Clannad, has great music and visuals, a good plot, and the most amazing part is that it is completely fan-made. I'll post the link to the group's website where you can download the game for free, below.

3. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni- I loved the Anime so I just had to check the VN out. It's pretty much the same as the Anime with a few extra arcs and some info about the series like why everyone at the school have completely different uniforms. All in all pretty good.

4. Shuffle- The VN is a lot less dramatic than the anime was, and you get the chance to end up with the other girls in the series, even Primula. There are a few new scenes with each route that wasn't shown in the anime but it's pretty much the same.

5. Yuki Sakura- Im starting to ramble on, so for this game i'll just put a link to a page with a summary for it lol. http://www.neoseeker.com/Games/Products/PC/snow_sakura/

Visual Novel???

Hmm, how do i explain this...

Its a genre of a game, mostly for PC. Basically in a visual novel you have a stationary character and a background image. On top of that is text which is the story, monologue, and dialogue. During the game you come across certain events in the text that will give you a list of options to choose from. Depending on the choice you make the story will progress in a different way which makes the replay value very high

here's an example of a visual novel http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/5164/86659892.png
